Hello everyone
I spoke to the event organiser at Ufford Park Hotel in Suffolk last week to confirm arrangements for the Eurotary87 event in October, only 5 rooms have been reserved. I have had an email from Andreas in the Rotary Club Bayreuth-Eremitage saying the club is unable to participate but will be willing to host the event next year, depending on the outcome of this year’s visit. Wreake Valley Rotary Club members have discussed the situation because the low number of reservations does not cover the cost of the deposit required. With regret, the club has decided to cancel the Eurotary87 event. It is very sad that such a unique event as Eurotary87 that holds Rotary values at its heart seems to be coming to the end of its life time and I hope that some of you are able to maintain the personal friendships you’ve made over the years.
Some members of Wreake Valley Rotary club still intend to go to Suffolk as a club trip Friday 6th – Sunday 8th October and anyone else who has already reserved a room or would still like to join us is very welcome & we would be delighted to see you. However, there will be no function room available for meals or meeting on Sunday morning. Meals will be taken in the hotel restaurant or another restaurant of your choice. You will need to reserve your room with the hotel & please let me know if you intend to go so we know who to look out for on our arrival.
Those who have reserved a room and no longer wish to go will need to contact the hotel to cancel the reservation. I am aware that some have already paid Wreake Valley for meals at the Eurotary agreed rate, this will no longer be available. Please contact David Jones, club treasurer, for your refund david_jones_70@yahoo.co.uk
I will be contacting the hotel on Monday 3rd July to request the release of the rooms that are on hold for the Eurotary87 event, please do not hesitate to contact me if you require more information.
Yours in Rotary and Kind regards

Dear Rotarian
Please circulate this information to your club members. I am sorry that this information is late, I have been negotiating the fees with the hotel. The Rotary Club of Wreake Valley is arranging the Eurotary87 visit and aiming to reduce the cost to encourage more people to attend, especially as there are fewer clubs participating. Suffolk is a county in the east of England beside the sea and with beautiful countryside, there are historic towns and villages. Woodbridge is a small town in Suffolk on the estuary of river Deben with easy access to the main A12 road that follows the south Suffolk coast in the east of England. The port of Harwich is approximately 1 hour away by car and Stansted airport is approximately 1hr 30minutes drive to the hotel. Ufford Park Hotel, Woodbridge, Suffolk is a spa hotel with its own golf course and driving range.

- Single room & breakfast per room per night £110
- Double room & breakfast per room per night £130
Guests must reserve their own room by contacting the hotel and use the code GA001589, this is the code for the Eurotary87 event and special room rate.
