In 1992 our club Gordes wanted to celebrate its 5th anniversary. Among the different suggestions we selected the idea to invite all clubs chartered in Europe in 1987 to a weekend in Gordes. We sent a circular letter to the 115 addresses we got from Evanstone. We received about 40 positive replies and prepared an a program for the 3 days.
The meeting was so successful that we asked a lawyer, member of our club, to submit a draft of statutes for a permanent association for signature of our guests before they left. This draft was very similar to the present statutes of Eurotary87 and even the name was approved upon by all members. We thus met again one year later and every year since in a different club and country.
